John has experience in a variety of industries, from technician to professor. Along the way, he served as Director of Research and Assessment Validation for HVAC Excellence, and Director of the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute. He received his PhD in education with an emphasis on evaluation systems from Capella University. John has spent the past 10 years developing certification, employee enhancement and apprenticeship programs.

James Keyzer, CHFM

Jim’s career in healthcare spans 30 years, many facilities and three states, beginning in Michigan. He holds a Masters Degree from Ferris State University and has received the Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager designation. Prior to his current service to MECH, he was active on the board of MiSHE.

Jerry Baker, CHFM, MoCEM
Director of Plant Operations & Safety
Research Medical Center; Kansas City, MO

Jerry has over 30 years of experience in facilities and plant operations, and has served as a MEP Superintendent on multiple projects totaling over $750 Million involving healthcare, civil, laboratory and industrial fields. He holds a long list of certifications, including Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Levels I, II and III.

Edward J. Belanger, II; Sr MECH
Manager of HVACR Systems and Power Plant Operations
Munson Medical Center; Traverse City, Michigan

Ed has a diverse background in which he has served as a technician, providing troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of various HVAC systems, and provided customer relations and training. He serves with several professional development organizations and councils.

Scott Foster
Lead Plant Operator
Palomar Medical Center; Escondido, CA

Scott has 15+ years invested in healthcare, but began his career in the maritime industry—earning an Unlimited Horsepower, Chief Engineer's License with the Panama Canal Commission. He has an extensive experience with generators, internal combustion engines, and in ATS switch gear areas.

Michael J. McArdle, Sr MECH
Supervisor II – Facilities Operations
Mayo Clinic Health Systems; La Crosse, WI

Mike's maintenance expierence goes back over twenty years, and his management experience is also varied. Over the past five years with Mayo Clinic Health System, he has improved processes and coordination, customer service and system efficiency. He holds degrees from Winona State University (MN) and Viterbo University (WI). He also volunteers with local sports and the Boys’ & Girls’ Club of Greater La Crosse.

Richard Senk
Director of Environmental Services
St. Camillus Health Center; Wauwautosa, WI

Rick has a diverse background in construction with over 30 years in the field building high rise structures, hospitals and senior living facilities. When on health care projects, his focus was continually on quality of work, infectious control and building commissioning working closely with the training of facility staff on building system integration, maintenance of MEP equipment and associated training. As a Director at St. Camillus Health Center he continues this same health care focus from the perspective of building owner and is a member of several professional organizations including WHEA.
